New K-pop Releases

It's been a while since I did a K-pop post (apart from the K-pop in Public- Boys' Edition! post, the last K-pop videos one was in January), so today I'm sharing some new Korean releases! :)

MONSTA X- GAMBLER

First up,  here is boyband MONSTA X's new single GAMBLER, which is the first release from their 9th Korean mini album One Of A Kind.

Member Shownu is currently taking a break from the group due to health issues, so MONSTA X will promote the new mini album as a five-piece.

GAMBLER was released on 1st June.

Ex-member Wonho also has a new release, the single Ain't About You featuring American singer Kiiara. Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqKXq-_32z8

EXO- Don't fight the feeling

Next is Don't fight the feeling, the new single from fellow boyband EXO. It came out on 7th June and is the title track of their special album, also called DON'T FIGHT THE FEELING (relased on the same day).

TWICE- Alcohol-Free

Now for the girls! This is Alcohol-Free, the latest single by girl group TWICE. It's from their 10th mini album Taste of Love which was released on 10th June.

Alcohol-Free is the lead single and came out on the 9th.

BTS- Butter

A "newish release is BTS' Butter which came out in May. It's been No. 1 on the American Billboard Hot 100 Chart fot 3 weeks. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMweEpGlu_U

Hope you liked the post! :) I said back in January that I planned to share more K-pop this year, but we're already halfway through 2021 and I haven't posted much! Never mind lol. I can share more during the second half. :) I am missing Pops in Seoul which abruptly ended in April. :( I first saw it when we got the Arirang TV channel in the UK, in September 2016. But at least there is still Simply K-Pop and YouTube to keep with K-pop!

South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. That one is by Rang De and you can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/08/dance-videos.html This cover is by Indian choreographer Sonali Bhaduria, from LiveToDance with Sonali and was uploaded in January 2022. It's a shorter video.   For more on Pushpa and to watch the official Oo Antava Mawa video, check out my Tollywood Videos Round-up 2 post from September 2023: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/09/tollywood-videos-round-up-2.html ...

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. I CONDEMN was released on 17th April. As with the songs on the original BEFORE I FORGET, it...

K-pop Comebacks- BTS

Sorry the 2nd post is later again this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :) Last month I started a mini series called K-pop Comebacks, featuring the comebacks of K-pop groups during 2026. The first one was about BLACKPINK and you can see it here:  https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2026/03/k-pop-comebacks-blackpink.html Today I'm focusing on BTS (one of the most popular Korean boybands ). They debuted in 2013 and are a 7-member group, made up of leader RM, formerly known as Rap Monster (real name Kim Nam Joon), SUGA (Min Yoon Gi), Jin (full name Kim Seok Jin), j-hope (Jung Ho-seok), Jimin (Park Ji Min), V (Kim Tae Hyung) and Jungkook (Jeon Jung Kook). * Since then, the boys have been very successful, not only in South Korea but internationally. They are probably one of the most well-known K-pop bands worldwide.  In June 2022, the group took a break while the members served their  mandatory military service in Korea and have also been concentrat...
