I think I  last did a combined post on new J-pop and K-pop releases 2 years ago, so it's time for another one! Here are some new Japanese and Korean songs. :)

Jun - Phenomenal World


Jun (full name Lee Jun-young), a member of Korean boyband U-KISS has released his debut solo single, the Japanese language Phenomenal World.* It will be on his upcoming single album also called Phenomenal World, due to be released on 10th April. The album will also feature the song Never Too Late.

The video was uploaded on 10th March.

J SOUL BROTHERS from EXILE TRIBE- Yes we are

J Soul Brothers have a new single, Yes we are. It was released on 13th March and is from their new album which also includes the RAISE THE FLAG, FIRE and ~Flowers for you~.



 K-pop

LOONA Butterfly

This is Butterfly by LOONA. They are are 12 member girl group who started off releasing singles in the sub units, LOONA 1/3, LOONA Odd Eye Circle and LOONA yyxy. Their Korean name is Idarui Sonyeo which translates in English as "Girl of the Month".

The members are HaSeul (full name Jo HaSeul ,  HeeJin (Jeon HeeJin), ViVi (real name Wong Gaahei) and HyunJIn (Kim Hyun-jin), who are also part of sub unit 1/3); Kim Lip (Kim Jung-un, JinSoul (Jung Jin-soul) and Choerry (real Choi Ye-rim), also members of Odd Eye Circle; Yves (Ha Soo-young, Chuu (Kim Jo-woo, Olivia Hye (SOn Hye-joo and Go Won (Park Chae-won), who make up yyxy, and YeoJin (Im Yeo-jin).* Vivi is from Hong Kong and the rest of the band is Korean.


LOONA /13 were the first to release music, bringing out the EP Love & Live in April 2017. Next was Odd Eye Circle with Mix Match in September 2017,  and finally yyxy with Beauty and the Beat in May 2018. {+ +} (plus plus), their first EP as a full group, was released last August. Each girl also brought out their own single album as pat of the pre debut project, starting in October 2016.

LOONa's first single as a whole group was favOrite, released in August, followed by Hi High later that month.

Butterfly is the group's first release of 2019 and it's from {X X) (multiple, multiple). the reissue of {+ +}. Both single and EP came out on 19th February.

TAEMIN- WANT

Here is WANT by Taemin. His full name is Lee Tae-min and he's a member of boyband SHINee. He released his first solo single Danger and EP Ace in August 2014. To date he's brought out 12 singles, (including Danger, Move, Thirsty, Eclipse, Under My Skin and WANT. In addition to Ace Taaemin has released 2 more Korean language EPs- Flame of Love (2017) and Want (2019) and one Japanese EP, Sayanora Hitori (2016); and 3 studio albums- Press It (2016(), Move (2017) both Korean, and Tamein (2018), which is Japanese. Move was also re-packaged as Move-ing and released in late 2017.

Taemin also acts and has appeared in TV shows and musical theatre. In 2012 he was part of the "surpergroup" Younique Unit.

WANT is Taemin's latest single It's from the EP of the same name which was released on 11th February.

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
