Weekly Music Video

This week the video is for the single Maxstep by Korean "supergroup" Younique Unit, which consists of members from other K-pop groups on the SM Entertainment record label. The group was formed as part of a collaboration with Hyundai PYL. The members are Eunhyuk (from Super Junior), Henry (Super Junior-M), Hyoyeon (part of Girls' Generation and the only female member of Younique Unit), Taemin (SHINee), Lu Han (EXO-M) and Kai (EXO-K). I'd say it's actually more of a Korean/international group since Henry is Canadian and Lu Han is Chinese. :)

I think Younique Unit started off as a dance group but they debuted as a singing group in 2012, releasing their debut single Maxstep on the mini album PYL Younique Album Vol. 1 on 31st October. The other songs on the album were Lookin' by BoA featuring The Quiett and My Lifestyle (Hyundai i30's theme song) by Jessica Jung (another Girls' Generation member) featuring Dok2. Younique Unit don't appear to have done much else since then, so maybe the members are concentrating on their own individual groups for now.

I saw EXO on the Asian Music Awards (they actually showed them on British TV!) just after Christmas and I liked their music, so I'll do a post on them in the future.

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. Weekly Music Video

This week's video is The Way You Move by American singer JayDon . His real name is JayDon McCrary (his previous stage name was J.D. McCrary) and he started out as a child actor, appearing on a couple of episodes of American TV series K.C. Undercover  in 2015 and going on to voice Young Simba in the 2019 remake of The Lion King .  In January 2018, JayDon released his official debut single Inviting All of You, going on to become the youngest solo artist  to sign with Hollywood Records (part of Disney Music Group ) that summer. He also released the single My Name in August and his debut EP followed in April 2019. Last year, JayDon changed his stage name from J.D. McCrary to his birth name JayDon and released his first single under that name in November, Ah!
