It's been ages since I've shared some Turkish music (apart from Weekly Music Videos, my last Turkish music post was back in 2019!), so today I'm featuring some. :) You can see my last Turkish music post here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2019/03/turkish-music_30.html
First of all, here are a few posts featured on the blog since 2019:
Otilia- Deli Gibi (Otlilia is Romanian but it's a Turkish language song): https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2021/04/weekly-music-video.html
Eurovision Countdown- Past Contestant Hadise (update on Turkey's 2009 Eurovision contestant): https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2022/04/eurovision-countdown-past-contestant.html
Murda feat. Hadise- Imdat: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2022/09/weekly-music-video_21.html
Now here is some music I haven't previously shared! :)
Hadise- Fırtınam
This is Fırtınam, the most recent single by Turkish Belgian singer Hadise (my favourite Turkish singer!), who was Turkey's entry in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Her full name is Hadise Ackigoz.
Fırtınam is the first single from Hadise's upcoming album (which will be her 9th). Her most recent studio album was 2021's Aşka Kapandım.
I think the title translates as "Storm" in English. Fırtınam is an upbeat pop/dance song and came out in February. There's also an acoustic version, which was released this month.
This is the official music video.
And here is the acoustic (or akustik in Turkish) version (an audio; uploaded on 10th July): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qcg1DmlpvI
Update- 20/7/25: Hadise has just uploaded an offical video for the acoustic version:

manifest- Snap
Next up is Snap by Turkish girl group manifest. I actually first discovered them through Filipina dancer Innah Bee. She mainly does dance covers of K-pop songs but she also does other genres, and has covered several manifest songs :)
The group was formed by Hypers New Media, through the YouTube reality show Big5 Türkiye, which started last September. It consists of 6 members- Mina Solak, Esin Bahat, Lidya Pinar, Hilal Yelekci, Zeynep Sude Otkay and Sueda Oleca. There were originally meant to be only 5 members (hence the name of the reality show) but a 6th member was added.
All the girls are from Turkey. Some have mixed heritage- Esin is half Turkish and half Moldovan, and Lidya and Sueda are half Turkish and half Russian. Zeynep has ancestors who were originally from Moldova.
manifest (written in lower case) represent a new generation of Turkish pop. They debuted in February with the single Zamansızdık (which translates as "We were timeless" in English), which went on to reach over 12 million streams.
Their 2nd single Arıyo (Looking for/Searching?) followed in April and they brought out two more in May- KTS (Kalbimin Tek Sahibi which translates as "The Only Owner of my Heart/The Sole Owner of My Heart") and Snap.
Last month, they released their debut album manifestival, which got to No. 1 in both Turkey and Azerbaijan. They also teamed up with Turkish electronic music duo Arem and Arman for the single Manifest, which came out on 12th June, a day before the album. They've uploaded several more music and lyric videos but I'm not sure if they're official singles.
The girls held a concert when they debuted and also held a 2 day live event called Manifestival: The Festival in Istanbul, around the time of the album release. They are having another event on 30th and 31st August.
manifestival is a mix of pop, R'n'B, soul with 2000s vibes and has a mix of Turkish and English lyrics. The lead/focus single Snap came out in May and is described as a "high-energy anthem". It's a dance/pop song with Jersey club influences.

The music video for Snap premiered on 29th May (a day before the single was released). Click "Closed captions/subtitles" on YouTube for English subtitles! :)

Gamze Karta & Uzunmakarna- Geçmişe Dair
And finally, this Geçmişe Dair by Gamze Karta and Uzunmakarna. They are both primarily content creators/influencers, I think.
Gamze became famous on TikTok and also has a popular YouTube account. She often posts videos with her daughter. She has released several other singles during 2024 and 2025, including Tolerans (Tolerance), Cal Oynasin and Dipsiz Kuyu (Bottomless Pit) with Oktay Kaya.
Uzunmakarna (whose real name is Özgür Balkar) is also a well-known TikToker in Turkey. In addition to her social media career, she models, acts and sings. Her singles include inadina (released in 2021), Harbi (War) with Ragib Narin (2023), DANCING ALL NIGHT LONG and YOLUMUZ USAK with YAGI (both released in 2024).
Note: I hope this information is accurate, I had to use Google Translate for some of it!
Geçmişe Dair was released in June and is the most recent single for both artists. I think the title translates as "About the Past" in English.

Hope you liked the post! :) This was my first time featuring a Turkish girl group on the blog! I have featured a Turkish male band before though (I shared the band maNga's 2010 Eurovision entry We Could Be The Same in my Eurovision Songs I Like post back in 2013). Let me know your favourite Turkish groups! :) What Turkish music are you currently listening to?
P.S. I'm still having a problem with videos not displaying properly on the post previews, both here and on my Facebook page. I'm not sure what's causing it but will try to sort it out as soon as I can.
