Since the 66th Eurovision Song Contest is coming up in less than a month, I thought it would be fun to do a few posts counting down. I normally write a couple of Eurovision posts every year in May and I still plan to do those. However, I'm planning some shorter ones in the lead-up. :)
So today I'm featuring Turkish Belgian singer Hadise (full name Hadise Açıkgöz), who entered for Turkey in 2009 with the song Dum Dum Tek (one of my faves that year). She came 4th. You can watch her performance here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzKgojZqO5Y
I first wrote an update on Hadise in 2019 and then another one last year (as part of my countdown posts featuring past contestants). You can see them at the links below:

Hadise's latest EP is Aşka Kapandım which was released in February 2021 and her two most recent singles are Hay Hay and Coş Dalgalan. According to Google Translate, Aşka Kapandım means "I'm Closed in Love" in English.
Watch the music video for Hay Hay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26xNHZzGJZI
Coş Dalgalan
Here is Hadise's most recent single. She collaborated wih PUBG Mobile on the song Coş Dalgalan, which came out last September.
I can't find a proper English translation of the title; Google just says the 2nd word is "fluctuate". Not sure how accurate it is, so if you speak Turkish, please let me know the English translation! :)
Turkey has not entered Eurovision for 10 years now, having last participated in 2012 with Can Bonomo's Love Me Back. It's a shame because I usually enjoyed their entries. You can find more of my favourites in the Countdown to Eurovison 2019! post (under the Hadise section).
Keep up with the news for Eurovision 2022 (held in Italy on 10th, 12th and 14th May) at the official site: https://eurovision.tv/
P.S. It's almost the 11th anniversary of when I started Star Sparkle Blog! Thank you whether you're a new reader or been following a long time. :) You can read my 10th birthday post from last year here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2021/04/star-sparkles-10th-birthday-fave-posts.html
Also wanted to say Happy Easter to those celebrating this week! I know it's Ramadan this month too, so Ramadan Mubarak! :)
