Weekly Music Video

Today's video is Strategy by Olivia Marsh (also known as GYUNA and Livvy). She is a Korean/Australian singer. Her mum is Korean and her dad is Australian, and she was born in Australia, later moving to South Korea. Her younger sister Danielle is also in the industry- she is a member of K-pop girl group NewJeans/NJZ. 

Olivia modelled as a child. She started her music career in March 2024, with the release of the song LAVA, from the soundtrack of  Korean TV drama Hide (under the name GYUNA).

Last autumn, Olivia signed with Korean record label MPLIFY, (a subsidiary of Warner Music Korea) and then made her official debut with the digital single 42. She was MPLIFY's first artist to debut. She released two more digital singles in November and December- Heaven and First December With You respectively.

On 13th February Olivia brought out her debut EP Meanwhile (both on CD and digitally). It's mainly pop and consists of 5 tracks (English language), including previous single 42 and Strategy. 

Strategy is a pop/R'n'B song and is the title track from Meanwhile, along with Backseat. Both singles were released on the same day as the EP.

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
