More Summer Songs

Back in August 2016 I did a post of my Top 10 Summer Songs. You can check it out here:

Now since it's summer again and we're having what it one of the hottest days so far (31/32 Celsius in some places, which is hot for the UK!), I'm sharing some more summer songs. :)

Robin Thicke feat. Pharrell Williams

American/Canadian singer Robin Thicke's single Wanna You Girl has a great exotic beach vibe and was released in August 2005. It was a Weekly Music Video back in May 2012:

Hadise- Yaz Günu

Turkish Belgian singer Hadise's 2015 single Yaz Günu translates as "Summer Day" in English and has a suitable video to accompany it! It was released in May 2015 and I featured it as a Weekly Music Video in July that year:

Mila J- Kickin' Back

Mila's single Kickin' Back is on her EP 213 and was released in July 2016. It has parts that are similar to Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff's Summertime (which is my first Summer Songs post) and Aaliyah's A Girl Like You. Nice, laid back summer vibe.  I featured it as my Weekly Music  Video 2 years ago:

Calvin Harris + Dua Lipa- One Kiss

Calvin and Dua's  On Kiss came ou in May and it suits the summer season:

Yemi Alade- How I Feel

Nigerian singer Yemi's single How I Feel featues lots of beach and yacht scenes! It was a Weekly Music Video in June:

5 Seconds of Summer- Youngblood

Their name has summer is in it, so I'm including 5SOS' latest single Youngblood! Check it out here:

Jessi- Down

Korean American rapper and singer Jessi's latest single has  tropical sound and beach video which fits this time of year. Jessi (full name Jessica Hyun-ju Ho) was born and raised in the US and moved to Korea aged 15. She's been releasing music since 2005. Her debut EP Un2verse was released in July 2017.

The video for Down was uploaded to Youtube on 6th July. It's a mixture of Korean and English.

Follow Jessi on Instagram:

Hope you're enjoying the summer. I danced at an event with my belly dance group at midday today and it was really hot! I'm staying indoors for the rest of the day, lol. It's 30C (86F) in my town this evening.

Hope you like the songs! What is your summer soundtrack? :)

Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant

Earlier this month I did a post on the new series of Teen Mom UK. At the end of of the post I mentioned that a new show had started in America called Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant. It's now due to start in the UK next week, so here's more about the programme. :)

Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant is the latest in the Teen Mom franchise which started with the 2009 series 16 and Pregnant. It follows 5 girls- Ashely, Brianna, Kayla, Lexi and Jade. Their ages vary from 17 to 21.

Lexi Tatman

The clip of Lexi was the first one I saw. She's 17 and  a cheerleader from Colorado. Her baby son's father is Kyler Lopez and she split-up with him before finding out she was pregnant. When you see Lexi cheerleading while pregnant it reminds me of Farrah Abraham (from Teen Mom OG) in her 16 and Pregnant episode!

Here are Lexi's social media links:

Weekly Music Video

This week's video is Love Lies by  Khalid featuring Normani (from American girl group Fifth Harmony). Khalid (full name Khalid Donnell Robinson) is an American singer who started out by posting music to Soundcloud and then featured on Alina Baraz's single Electric in early 2016. He released his debut single Location in July 2016, which is one of his biggest hits to date. His debut album American Teen came out in March 2017.

Khalid's other singles include Young, Dumb & Broke. Love Lies and OTW with rappers/singers Ty Dolla $ign and 6LACK.

Love Lies was released on Valentine's Day (14th Feb) and is from soundtrack of  the American film Love, Simon. I've only seen the video in the last month though). It's the first single Normani has released outside of Fifth Harmony, who are currently on hiatus.

Top 10 True Movies

I like watching films based on true stories. I used to watch them occasionally as a child and teen but I started watching them more after the True Movies channels (True Movies 1 and True Movies 2) launched on Sky 11 years ago. It seems weird that it's been so long, lol. I usually watch the films on those channels (or True Entertainment) but I also sometimes watch them on Lifetime or other channels. (I think a lot of these are Lifetime original movies but we didn't get the Lifetime channel in the UK until late 2013).

I thought that today I'd share my Top 10 True Movies. :)

Trigger warning:

Most of the films are based on crimes (often murder or abuse) and I realise these are difficult subjects, so read with caution if you're sensitive to these type of films.

Posts may contain spoilers. Unless otherwise stated, videos are trailers. :)
