Today's video is Aa Zara, the new single by Indian singers Sukriti and Prakriti Kakar . The twins (also known as SuPra) are playback singers for Bollywood films and also release their own music. Aa Zara is a Hindi language pop song with Afrobeat rhythms. I think the title translates as "Come a Little" or something similar in English. Let me know if you know the correct translation! :) Sukriti and Prakriti describe the song as a "sultry anthem of desire, love and longing" and say that it was originally made on a rainy day in 2023. Here is my first Asian Groups post of 2025! I started this series (which showcases groups from various Asian countries) back in March 2023 , so nearly two years ago now!  My last post in the series was in September , so it's been a while, lol.  Today I'm featuring Thai girl group 4EVE and Taiwanese boyband/boy band Ozone . *   4EVE 4EVE were formed in Bangkok (Thailand's capital city) in 2020, through the reality survival TV show Girl Group Star . They are signed to Thai record label XOXO Entertainment (who also manage boyband ATLAS ). The group consists of 7 members- Mind (real name Atitaya Tribudarak), Jorin (full name Jorin Khumpiraphan), Taoom (Benyapa Unjit), Hannah (Hannan Rosenbloom), Fai (Nattaya Buttura), Punch (Tipanan Nilsiam) and Aheye (Korranid Laosubinprasoet).  Hannah is Laotian-American (she has a Laotian mum and an American dad), but born in Thailand, later moving to Laos as a child. This week's video (or audio) is IT'S TRUE by Nigeran singer and record producer CKay and featuring  Canadian dancer, actress and singer Nora Fatehi . It's from CKay's latest album project EMOTIONS, which was released in October.  EMOTIONS follows CKay's debut album Sad Romance (which came out in 2022) and is a fusion of Nigerian and international music. CKay (who is known as "Africa's Boyfriend") says that the album is about "vulnerablility and growth" . Singles from EMOTIONS include WAHALA featuring Nigerian rapper and singer Olamide , IN MY BED and ADDICTED featuring Nigerian highlife band The Cavemen. . Today's video is Attention by Zhayna. She is from Jamaica and describes herself as a recording artiste, singer and songwriter. Her singles include Runaway, I Love the Way and her latest, Spend Some Time/ Outside, which just came out this month. She has also done collaborations such as Love Me, We Move and White Line. Attention is a sultry R'n'B/reggae song which was written by Zhayna. Last year I wrote several dance themed posts and now here is my first one of 2025! :) The single Bad Girls Like You by Swiss/Thai rapper and singer Tobii has been a hit in recent months. It was released last September and is an R'n'B song with a mixture of Thai and English lyrics. Bad Girls Like You has also become a popular in the cover dance world, with quite a few dance covers ( Dance in Public ). The trend likely started after Thai dance studio MINIZIZE choreographed a dance version in September. This week's video is Criminal (Over You) by Indonesian singer Afgan and Vietnamese American singer thủy . It's Afgan's most recent single and from his mini album/EP Sonder, which was released last June. Afgan describes Sonder as a global mini album and it's a follow-up to his previous English language mini album Wallflower (released in 2021). thủy's latest EPs are wings (written in lower case, like her name), which came out in October and take me on a D8, which came out on 16th December. Her recent singles include cloud 11 and fairy godmother.  Criminal is the 3rd single to be released from Sonder, following on from Shallow Water and Escape featuring South Korean based, American rapper and singer Jessi (released in February and June 2024 respectively). Today is New Year's Day, so this week's video is NO TEARS FOR NEW YEAR'S by Katy Perry ! It's from her latest album 1432, a deluxe edition of her 7th album 143 (released back in September). 3 singles were released from the original version, WOMAN'S WORLD, LIFETIMES and I'M HIS, HE'S MINE featuring American rapper and singer Doechii . 1432 came out on 20th December and contains 4 extra tracks- I WOKE UP, HAS A HEART, NO TEARS FOR NEW YEAR'S and OK. I'm not sure if NO TEARS FOR NEW YEAR'S is an official single but this is the visualiser.
