Sorry the 2nd post is later this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :)
The 67th Eurovision Song Contest is coming up in less than a month (seems crazy that it's almost time again!). I normally write two annual Eurovision posts in the lead-up to the contest. Last year I wrote a couple of "mini posts" the month before as well, so I thought it would be cool to do that again for 2023. :)
Today I'm focusing on AleXa (full name Alexandra Christine Schneiderman), the winner of the first American Song Contest, which was held last year.
The American Song Contest (ASC) is the American version of Eurovision and was launched in spring 2022. It ran from March to May (with the Grand Final held the day before the first Eurovision semi-final) and it was televised on NBC. There hasn't been one this year, so I'm not sure if there are plans for any future contests.
AleXa is an American singer who started her career in South Korea as a K-pop star. She entered ASC for her home state of Oklahoma with the song Wonderland, and ended up winning the contest! Here is my original post about her from last year: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2022/04/eurovision-countdown-asc-contestant.html
And watch her performance in the final here: https://youtu.be/zQAx89D4e8s
Since wining ASC, AleXa has released her 3rd mini album Girls Gone Vogue. It came out last November, along with the lead single Back In Vogue. This month she signed to the record label Intertwine for her American promotion.
Back In Vogue
Here is the music video for Back In Vogue, the lead single/title track from Girls Gone Vogue. It's a Korean and English language song. Click "Subtitles/closed captions" on YouTube for English subtitles! :)
Star feat. Moonbyul of MAMAMOO
And here is Star, another song from Girls Gone Vogue. It's a slower song (also a mix of Korean and English) and features rapper Moonbyul from the K-pop girl group MAMAMOO.
This is the official lyric video and it was uploaded in January.

Hope you liked the post! :) Are you looking forward to Eurovision? This year it will take place in the UK (for the first time in over 20 years!) due to last year's winners Ukraine being unable to host (because of the ongoing war).
Keep up with the news for Eurovision (held in the UK on 9th, 11th and 13th May) at the official ESC site: https://eurovision.tv/
Plus, here is my first Eurovision "mini post" from last year:
Eurovision Countdown- Past Contestant Hadise: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2022/04/eurovision-countdown-past-contestant.html
P.S. Tomorrow it will be the 12th anniversary of when I started Star Sparkle Blog! I wrote a 10th birthday post back in 2021, it seems strange that it's already 2 years since that, lol. And it was exactly a year ago that I did my first Eurovision Countdown post (see above).
Thank you to everyone who has read and continues to read the blog! ☺️
