New JoJo Deluxe Album

American singer JoJo (full name Joanna Levesque) has just released the deluxe version of her 4th studio album good to know (title written in lower case). The original album was released back in May and contains 11 tracks on the physical edition, and 9 on the digital version. The two extra songs are the intro Bad Habits and the outro Proud. JoJo also brought an acoustic version of the album in July.

The deluxe version came out today (28th August) and features 6 new songs- Kiss, What U Need, Love Reggae featuring Tinashe, a new version of Lonely Hearts featuring Demi Lovato, X (1 Thing Wrong and In Your Room.

I didn't like the original good to know as much as JoJo's previous albums, but I had a few songs I liked. My two favourites are So Bad and Gold, and I also like Man and Think About You. Visit this post for the So Bad and Gold audios: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2020/05/current-favourite-songs.html

In the past I haven't been the biggest fan of artists releasing deluxe versions because I would buy their album and then there would be extra songs I hadn't bought! lol. The only singer whose album I've ever bought twice is Mariah Carey's The Emancipation of Mimi because she's my absolute favourite singer. Bur these days it's so much easier with iTunes and streaming services. :)

I like the new tracks. My favourite songs are What U Need, Love Reggae and X(1 Thing Wrong). I like them all though really. Not as into In Your Room but it may grow on me.

So here are the new songs. I'll share my favourites below and link to the others. Please note that some songs are explicit. :)

Love Reggae

This song is all about making love!  It features American singer Tinashe and has reggae influences, as you can tell by the title. :) I also like Tinashe's music, so it's cool to see her and JoJo working together. My fave part is the chorus.

This is the official audio.

What U Need

I first saw this a couple of weeks ago. It's the 1st single from the Deluxe Edition and came out on 8th August.

What U Need is a good R'n'B song with a nice beat.  Sometimes you just want simple R'n'B and this fits the bill! This is the official music video.

X(1 Thing Wrong)

X(1 Thing Wrong) is a sultry track that reminds me of older R'n'B songs. Makes feel nostalgic for the early 2000s! lol. It's about standing firm when your ex changes his mind and wants to come back to you.

This is an audio as well.

25th Anniversary of Mariah Carey's Butterfly Album

My favourite singer Mariah Carey recently released a 25th anniversary edition of her 6th studio album Butterfly. The original album was released on 16th September 1997 and featured songs such as her hit single Honey, The Roof and My All. It was actually the first album I ever bought (on cassette tape, lol) and I still consider it one of my fave MC albums. :) Butterfly was the first album that Mariah had more control over and it is R'n'B, rather than the pop (and later pop/R'n'B) of her previous releases. It also has pop and hip hop influences. The expanded edition contain 8 extra tracks (the original standard edition has 12)- a duet version of Whenever You Call with Brian McKnight , a new take on The Roof featuring Brandy , live versions of Butterfly and My All, acapella versions of Fourth of July and Outside, an Amorphous Anniversary Club Mix of Butterfly (with DJ Amorphous ) and a remix of Honey (Another Taste of Honey David Morales Mix). I had previously heard the D

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. Season 2 saw the departure of Lilly and the addition of 3 new pregnant girls and their partners- Laura Barron and her boyfriend (now husband) Tylor Stawmyor who have son Lucas (and have since had another baby , a 2nd son, who is named Leo),
