New Turkish Music

At the beginning of the year I did a couple of posts on new music for 2018. You can read them here:

I mentioned I would do another post on new Turkish music, so here it is. :)


Hadise- Farkımız Va


First up here is Farkımız Va by Turkish Belgian singer Hadise. It translates as "We Are Different" in English and is from her latest album Şampiyon (Champion), which was released last June. The video was uploaded to YouTube on 14th March






Kenan Doğulu- Kardan Kadın

This is  Kardan Kadın by Kenan Doğulu. It's from his album "Aşka Türlü Şeyler and the video was uploaded on 5th March.




Berkan-Bem

This is Ben by Berksan. His full name is Berksan Ozer and he went to a Turkish music school as a child. He released his debut album Çilek in September 2003. Since then he's released 5 more albums- Kalbime Dönüyorum (2005), Bay Bay (2007), Zaaf (2009), Su (2011) and 6 (2016). He's also brought out 3 maxi singles and a remix album. Please note: I translated this from Turkish Wikipedia, so I hope it's accurate!
According to Google Translate, Ben translates as "I". The video was uploaded on 9th February.

Gürkan Aykutalp- Rüyalar Seni Sorar

This is the new song by  Gürkan Aykutalp. It's listed under Rap on netd muzik's (Turkish music platform) YouTube page. I can't find much about Gurkan online but will give his social media links below.

I haven't heard much Turkish rap so it's good to hear new things. This is more of a slow rap. :) Video was uploaded on 28th Feb.

 Caner Fındık- Defter


Now for a bit of Turkish rock!  This is Defter, the new single by Caner Fındık, who is from Istanbul. I think his debut single was Seviyor Musum. (Not much English language info on him online).  Defter was released earlier this month.

 Melodi- Sadakatisz

Melodi is a 19 year old singer who was discovered through Instagram. This is her single Sadakatisz which I think translates as "Unfaithful". It took me a while to find information about her and what I found I translated from Turkish, so I'll write more about her in future if I come across more info. :)

Sadakitisz came out in January, so it's 2 months old now, but it was new for 2018 so I've included it!

P.S. If you're a Eurovision fan you'll be interested to hear that Turkey may return to the contest this year! I hope they do; I usually like their entries. :) Hadise was their 2009 entry and Kenan Dogulu entered in 2007.

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
