Weekly Music Video

At the beginning of 2017 I said I was going to do more Bollywood posts this year. It's now late August and I've only done 3! Still, I've got a few more months, lol. So here's a Bollywood video. It's for the song Ek Din Teri Raahoon Mein from the 2007 film Naqaab. Naqaab means "veil" or "mask" in English, similar to the word niqab, which means the veil that Muslim women wear.

The film is about Indian girl Sophia aka Sophie (played by Urvashi Sharma) who moves to Dubai after a bad experience with a stalker. She meets rich man Karan Oberoi (Bobby Deol) and gets engaged to him, but then falls in love with struggling actor Vicky (Akshaye Khanna). She decides to ignore her attraction and go ahead with the wedding only to have second thoughts at the last minute. After being left at the altar Karan commits suicide. However that's not all to the story....

This is a scene from a night out where Sophia and Vicky perform a dance together. It's a seductive dance and their attraction is obvious. Ek Din Teri Rahoon Mein is my favourite song from the film. It's sung by the playback singer is Javed Ali.

I saw Naqaaab quite a few years ago now. (Can't believe it's 10 years old!). I'd wanted to see it for a while at the time. It's one of those twist type films much like Humraaz (one of my favourite Bollywood films) which both Bobby and Akshaye also starred in. Both movies were directed by famous brothers Abbas-Mustan. Apparently Naqaab is a remake of the British/Spanish film Dot the I (which I've never seen but it does sound similar).

People have also commented that this song is a copy of American singer Mark Anthony's song When I Dream At Night and similar to Egyptian singer Amr Diab's Tamally Maak. To be honest some Bollywood films and songs are remakes/covers or very similar to foreign ones, and people have been accused of plagiarism before. I have Tamaally Maak and I suppose it is a bit similar but different beats; Tamally Maak starts off a bit slower. I just listened to When I Dream At Night and that is definitely the same music. Unexpected Girls Updates

Back in September I did a post about the American reality TV show Unexpected. You can read it here:

There have been two seasons (or series as we also call it in the UK) so far. There will be a 3rd one  featuring mums Lexus, Mckayla and Chloe (Chloe joined in Series 2). Emiley who joined in Season 2, says she isn't returning (see below) so. Laura (who also joined in S2) will also not be back (see below for more on that). Original cast member Lexus shared a casting call on her Instagram page in November, so it seems the company is looking for new girls due to give birth from March to June 2019. Check out the post here;

The gossip site Starcasm also reports that Unexpected's producers are casting for a new programme:

23/2/19: Updated with new links. :)

Unexpected (full title Unexpected: Teenage & Pregnant) is an American reality TV series following the lives of pregnant teenagers and their partners, and their journey into parenthood. It's the TLC version of the hit show 16 and Pregnant, which spawned the spin off Teen Mom. The first series/season was shown last year, and Series 2 was shown in the US this summer and has just started in the UK.

Season 1 followed  16 year old Lilly Bennett and her boyfriend James,  15 year old Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden, 17, and Mckayla Adkins 16 and her boyfriend Caelan Morrison. Lilly gave birth to daughter Aaliyah Rose, Lexus had a daughter named Scarlett, and McKayla had son Timothy (Timmy).

All 3 of the girls' mums were also teen mothers, and in Lexus' case her grandmother was a teen mum too.

S2 catches up with Mckayla and Lexus, and introduce some new girls and their boyfriends. I'm focusing mainly on the girls here, like with my Te…

Top 10 True Movies

I like watching films based on true stories. I used to watch them occasionally as a child and teen but I started watching them more after the True Movies channels (True Movies 1 and True Movies 2) launched on Sky 11 years ago. It seems weird that it's been so long, lol. I usually watch the films on those channels (or True Entertainment) but I also sometimes watch them on Lifetime or other channels. (I think a lot of these are Lifetime original movies but we didn't get the Lifetime channel in the UK until late 2013).

I thought that today I'd share my Top 10 True Movies. :)

Trigger warning:

Most of the films are based on crimes (often murder or abuse) and I realise these are difficult subjects, so read with caution if you're sensitive to these type of films.

Posts may contain spoilers. Unless otherwise stated, videos are trailers. :)
