Weekly Music Video

This week's video is Jealous by American singer and actor Nick Jonas. He started out by performing on Broadway as a child and in 2002 released a song that he wrote with his dad called Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer). In 2005 he formed the  group Jonas Brothers, along with his older brothers Kevin and Joe. (They also have a younger brother called Frankie). Jonas Brothers also starred in the Disney Channel series Jonas L.A. Apparently the original plan was for Nick to have a solo career but the brothers ended up all being signed to a record label. Nick is also in a band called Nick Jonas & the Administration. (Jonas Brothers split in 2013).

Nick has released 2 solo studio albums, Nicholas Jonas (2005) and Nick Jonas (2014), 1 EP, Songs from How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (2012) and 4 solo singles, his older ones Dear God and Joy to the World and 2 from his latest album Nick Jonas, Chains and Jealous.

Nick has starred in quite a few musicals and films, besides releasing music. His other projects include musicals A Christmas Carol (2000), Beauty and the Beast (2002) and Hairspray (2011), the TV movie Camp Rock (2008) and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam which was released in 2010 (both with his brothers),  the new version  of TV series Hawaii Five-O and film Careful What You Wish For, which is due out this year.

I've never been that into the Jonas Brothers' music or but Nick's older solo stuff but I like his new music. It's more R'n'B that previous releases. Jonas Brothers' music is pop rock.

Jealous is the second single from Nick Jonas. It was released in the US last September but they've only just started showing the video over here. It's due for release in the UK on 5th April.. Nick's real life girlfriend Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo appears in the video There's also a remix featuring Tinashe, which is good as well.

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002).
