American singer JoJo just released a new single. It's called Creature of Habit and came out on Thursday (27th May. It's a slow, sultry R'n'B/pop song about not feeling able to leave a settled relationship because it's become a habit despite wanting something different. The music video also premiered on the 27th. Today's video is Where I Belong by American rapper Busta Rhymes and featuring my favourite singer Mariah Carey . It's from Busta's 9th studio album Extinction Level: Event 2: The Wrath of God (The Deluxe Edition) which was released back in October. Extinction Level: Event 2 is a sequel to the 1998 album E.L.E (Extinction Level Event): The Final World Front. The music video is actually a follow on to the one from I Know What You Want, Busta's 2003 single with Mariah and Busta's group Flipmode Squad.  It gives me nostalgic vibes! lol. The Eurovision Song Contest is tonight, so here is the 2nd of my annual posts! And then I'll watch the acts from the other semi-final that didn't get through online later. This week's video is Deedar De from the 2020 Bollywood film Chhalaang . The movie is a a comedy and stars Rajkummar Rao as Mahinder nicknamed Montu, a physical training instructor/PE teacher at a school who is uninspired by his job. When he meets new computer teacher Neelam aka Neelu ( Nushrat Bharucha ), he falls in love with her and things starts to get complicated. Chhalaang (Leap in English) was released last November during Diwali . Deedar De is a remake of the original song from the 2005 film Dus , sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Krishna Beura . I like the original and thought it sounded familar when I heard it! It's Eurovision season again! It's now a year since the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest was cancelled due to the coronavirus . Seems hard to believe it was a year ago! A special event called Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light was held instead. So, this year's contest will be the 65th edition instead of last year's. It will be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, since in 2019 Duncan Laurence won for Holland with the song Arcade . The Semi-Finals will be held on Tuesday and Thursday, and the Grand Final next Saturday. James Newman who entered for the UK last year with My Last Breath , will enter for us again, this time with the new song Embers . Today's video is Action Figure by WayV . They are the Chinese sub-unit of the Korean boyband NCT and debuted in early 2019. The group consists of 7 members- leader Kun, Ten, WinWin, Lucas, Hendery, Xiaojun and YangYang. Kun, WinWin and Lucas were already members of NCT. They released their first digital single album The Vision in January 2019. In May 2019 WayV released their first EP Take Off, along with the title track of the same name. They also brought out another EP Take Over the Moon in October that year. A special physical version called Take Over the Moon- The Sequel was released the following March. WayV's singles include Take Off, Love Talk, Kick Back and Action Figure. They released their debut studio album Awaken the World in June last year.  Actin Figure is from WayV's 3rd mini album Kick Back which came out on 26th March. It's been a while since I've done an all J-pop post, so today I'm featuring some Japanese music! :)   Note: Avex videos are blocked from being shown on third party applications. If you click on the videos, you can watch them fine on YouTube. :) FlowBack- Dramatic Lover First up is Dramatic Lover by FlowBack . They are a Japanese boyband formed in 2013/2014. They first auditioned in 2013 and took part in the final audition in 2014. The group consists of 5 members- leader Tatsuki, Masaharu, rapper Judai, Reiji and Mark.  FlowBack debuted in September 2016 with the single Come a Long Way and their first studio album Versus in May 2017. They have released several more singles including Heartbreak, Booyah!, Always, Fireworks and without you; a demo CD and the EP Shake the World. Their latest album is Do Not Hesitate (2019). This week's video is Twisted Fantasy, the latest single by American singer Justine Skye . It features Nigerian singer and rapper Rema . Twisted Fantasy was released on 30th April and is likely to be on Justine's upcoming album Space & Time, due out on 25th June. This is a lyric video but I will update as and when there is a music video. :) I can't believe it's been almost 6 years since I first came across Justine's music! Doesn't seem that long, lol.
