K-pop in Public- Solo Edition!

Sorry the 2nd post is later this week, I wasn't well so got behind with it. :)

 

I've previously written several K-pop in Public (dance covers of Korean songs performed in public places) special edition posts, focusing on themes such as male K-pop stars' routines or based around one groups' dances.

Today's K-pop in Public post is a solo edition, featuring dances to songs by solo artists. :) 

 

KPOP IN PUBLIC (CHUNG HA)-PLAY CHANGMO Dance Cover by B-Wild

Back in August 2020 I wrote my very first K-pop in Public post! One of the videos I included was a  dance cover of solo singer (and former member of girl group I.O.I) CHUNG HA's's single PLAY featuring Changmo.

MMMH by Kai Covers

My 1st K-pop in Public- Boys' Edition! post from 2021 features several dance covers of MMMH,  by Kai from Korean/Chinese boy band EXO and supergroup SuperM. It was his debut solo single and was released in November 2020.

The covers are by HIMI, 9BIT and SOULITE (from Australia) and HIGHER CREW and SS MOB (both from France).

SOMI- 'DUMB DUMB' Dance Cover- Ellen and Brian

In a Dance Videos post from 2022, I included a solo dance cover of DUMB DUMB, the 2021 single by Somi (also a former member of I.O.I., along with CHUNG HA). The cover is performed by Ellen, of husband and wife dance cover team Ellen and Brian.

[K-POP IN PUBLIC] [ONE TAKE] NAYEON 'POP!'- LUMINANCE

 [KPOP IN PUBLIC ONE TAKE] JENNIE 'You & Me' Dance Cover- Mermaids Taiwan

Then this year, my Dance in Public Videos- One Take Edition! included a cover of BLACKPINK member JENNIE's 2023 solo single You & Me. [KPOP IN PUBLIC CHALLENGE] JUNGKOOK '3D' Dance Cover- Call Team DC

And here's the most recent solo dance cover I've shared. In my K-pop (and J-pop) in Public- Boys' Edition 2! post in May, I featured a cover of BTS member Jung Kook's single with American rapper Jack Harlow, 3D (released in 2023).

[KPOP IN PUBLIC | ONE TAKE] LISA- 'ROCKSTAR' Dance Cover- MAJESTY TEAM

Now here is a newer video! This is a cover of ROCKSTAR, the recent solo single by rapper and singer LISA from girl group BLACKPINK. It was released in June, the lead single from her upcoming debut studio album.

The dance cover is performed by MAJESTY TEAM, a dance team from Poland. It's a solo by Roxanne.  The video was uploaded in August and it's a one-take (meaning it was recorded all in one go).

[DANCE COVER IN PUBLIC | ONE TAKE] HYOLYN 'Wait'- HANAMI

Here is a cover of Wait, by HYOLYN (former member of girl group SISTAR (who have now disbanded) and current member of the sub-unit SISTAR19. It's her most recent single and was released in August.

The dance is by HANAMI COVER TEAM. They describe themselves as a "young but ambitious team of cover dancers".

The video premiered in October and features NAMI as HYOLYN, supported by backing dancers HANI, Sizz, Anya Swag and Asya.

[KPOP IN PUBLIC CHALLENGE ONE SHOT] JENNIE- Mantra- MOANTE

Next is a cover of another BLACKPINK soloist's song,  this time Mantra, the new single by JENNIE. It was released on 11th October as the lead single from her upcoming debut album.

The dance is performed by MOANTE Dance Crew, a K-pop cover dance team from Ukraine. The video premiered on 21st October. It's a one-shot video, meaning (like one-take) it was shot all in one go.

[KPOP IN PUBLIC ONE TAKE] JENNIE- Mantra DANCE COVER- PREMIUM DANCE 

And here is another Mantra cover! This one is by PREMIUM DANCE STUDIO, the first studio-type dance academy in South Korea. (I used Google Translate for that info, so hope it's  right!)

The video premiered on 27th October and is also a one take.

25th Anniversary of Mariah Carey's Butterfly Album

My favourite singer Mariah Carey recently released a 25th anniversary edition of her 6th studio album Butterfly. The original album was released on 16th September 1997 and featured songs such as her hit single Honey, The Roof and My All. New J.Lo and JoJo Music

Two singers I like, Jennifer Lopez and JoJo have new music out, so today I'm sharing it on the blog! Jennifer Lopez- Baila Conmigo First up is Jennifer Lopez, whose new song is the Spanish language Baila Conmigo (Dance with Me). It's a cover of the 2018 single by Dayvi featuring Kelly Ruiz . New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. Season 2 saw the departure of Lilly and the addition of 3 new pregnant girls and their partners- Laura Barron and her boyfriend (now husband) Tylor Stawmyor who have son Lucas (and have since had another baby , a 2nd son, who is named Leo),
