South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. That one is by Rang De and you can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/08/dance-videos.html This cover is by Indian choreographer Sonali Bhaduria, from LiveToDance with Sonali and was uploaded in January 2022. It's a shorter video.   For more on Pushpa and to watch the official Oo Antava Mawa video, check out my Tollywood Videos Round-up 2 post from September 2023: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/09/tollywood-videos-round-up-2.html ...

Weekly Music Video

Hope everyone had a good New Year! Since yesterday was New Year's Day, I'm posting the Weekly Music Video on Thursday instead. :) The first video of the year is The Karma Theme from the Telugu and Tamil (Indian languages) bilingual thriller film U Turn , which was released last September. It's about intern journalist Rachana (played by Samantha , a leading South Indian actress) and crime reporter Aditya ( Rahul Ravindran ) who are investigating accidents due to illegal u-turns on a flyover and get drawn into a murder mystery. It's a remake of the 2016 Kannada language film of the same name. The Karma Theme is composed and sung by Anirudh Ravichander , son of Kollywood (Tamil) actor Ravi Raghavendra . Anirudh sang both versions and they were released in September. The video stars the actress Samantha. World Music Round-up- Africa and Asia

I like a variety of music from around the world, so I thought today I'd do a round-up of world music posts on the blog. :) I was originally going to include more countries but it was turning into a really long post, so I've split it up! I'm starting with music from African and Asian countries. Note: I've listed the countries and singers/groups in alphabetical order to make it easier but the Bollywood, Kollywood and Tollywood films are listed in order of posting (from oldest to newest) because that was how I did the previous Bollywood round-up post.  Text size has been corrected so this should be easier to read now! :) Africa Angola Perola: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2015/11/weekly-music-video_18.html Cameroon Henri Dikongue: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2012/01/weekly-music-video_25.html Egypt Amr Diab:  https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2013/06/weekly-music-video_26.html Ruby: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2016/06/weekly-music-...

Kollywood

While I like Bollywood (Hindi language Indian films) and also sometimes watch Tollywood (Telugu language) videos, I haven't seen many Kollywood videos. Like Tollywood, Kollywood is a South Indian film industry but it's the Tamil language one. It started in 1918 with the silent film Keechaka_Vadham . Kollywood is one of the most successful film industries in India and Tamil films are also made in other countries, such as Sri Lanka and Singapore. In India, Kollywood is based in Tamil Nadu . This is Kalasala Kalasala which is from the film Osthi Ayngaran. The video stars Malika Sherawat, who also acts in Bollywood movies.                                Kollywood reminds me a bit of Tollywood, since they're both South Indian and seem to have a similar style. I'm planning to watch more Kollywood videos in the future. You might a...
