Teen Mom UK (the British version of the popular American reality franchise Teen Mom , a spin-off of MTV's 16 & Pregnant ) is back for a new series, this time with a new generation of teen mums!  Teen Mom UK started back in 2016 and has run for 8 series so far. S1 followed 5 girls- Chloe Patton, Naomi Konickova, Mia Boardman, Amber Butler and Megan Salmon-Ferrari. In S2 Naomi left and was replaced by Sassi Simmonds. And S4 in 2018 , saw both Megan and Mia take a break from the show and the addition of a new mum, Shannon Wise. In Series 7 , Sassi and Shannon took a break and Emma Finch joined, and then Sassi returned for S8. Hopefully we will still get to catch up with the UK "OGs" (Original Girls) in the future. :) And now here is the next generation! The 5 new mums are Chloe, Angel, Ellie, Whitney and Isha. American reality show Teen Mom (a spin-off of the TV series 16 and Pregnant which followed pregnant teenagers) first began in late 2009. I'm a long-time fan who also watched 16 and Pregnant, and has watched Teen Mom and its sister show Teen Mom 2 over the years. Both programmes featured 4 girls from 16 and Pregnant. Now both Teen Mom (later renamed Teen Mom OG aka Original Girls) and Teen Mom 2 have been combined into one show called Teen Mom: The Next Chapter (Teen Mom Legacy was a working title at one point). News of the "mega-show" began circulating earlier this year and then the new series premiered in the US on 6th September. It starts in the UK next week, so today I'm taking a look at the show. The Next Chapter features girls (or women now!) from both programmes- Maci Bookout (now also known as Maci Bookout McKinney), Amber Portwood, Catelyn Lowell (Baltierra) and Ashley Jones from TM OG, and Leah Messer, Briana DeJesus, Cheyenne Floyd and Jade Cline from TM...

Season 4 of the reality show Unexpected is currently showing in the UK, and also Season 9 of Teen Mom OG just started, so today I'm featuring both shows on the blog. There is a round-up of previous posts, plus info on the new series and some updates.  Note: If you're not familiar, both shows follow pregnant teens and their lives as parents. The popular American reality show 16 and Pregnant is back! The series, which follows pregnant teen girls on their journey to giving birth, originally aired in 2009. It spawned the hit spin-off shows Teen Mom (now Teen Mom OG) and Teen Mom 2 , plus the short-lived Teen Mom 3 and then more recently Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant . There have even been international versions including Teen Mom UK and Teen Mom Australia . 16 and Pregnant went on hiatus in 2014 after 5 seasons. However, it's now back featuring 6 new girls. The show premiered in the US in October, but it's just started here in the UK. The first episode was Wednesday. The British version of the popular Teen Mom franchise (itself a spin-off of the MTV reality show 16 and Pregnant ) starts in early April and there have been some changes to the cast. Series 7 sees the introduction of new mum Emma and the exits of Sassi Simmonds and Shannon Wise. They've both decided to take a break. Sassi, 21, says she's just concentrating on her family for now (daughter Zen'aya, 3 and on/off boyfriend and Ze'anya's dad Darren Quirk) and Shannon's reason is that after giving birth to her and boyfriend Charlie's second son Frankie last July, (little brother to 3 year old Theodore), she didn't feel ready to go back to filming and wants to just concentrate on being a mum. There's more Teen Mom coming to the UK for the start of 2020! First up is a new season of Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant , and then we'll get Teen Mom Australia later this month. Sometimes we get the new series straight after America but YP has taken longer to come here this time, since it started in the US in October. The Teen Mom universe keeps growing! This month sees the start of a brand new spin-off- a UK version of Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant . The original Teen Mom, now re-named Teen Mom OG (itself a spin-off on the American reality show 16 and Pregnant , which follows pregnant teenagers) started in 2009 and there have been several other shows since- Teen Mom 2 , Teen Mom 3 (cancelled after one season), Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant and Teen Mom: Young Moms Club (formerly Pretty Little Mamas). There have also been several international versions, including Teen Mom UK and Teen Mom Australia . Series 6 of TM: UK just finished and now the British version of Young and Pregnant is due to start next week. TM: Young and Pregnant UK follows 4 new girls- Charlie, Alisha, Laura and Charlotte who are all expecting babies. When TM UK started only Mia Boardman was pregnant but this time all of the mums were pregnant during filming. (Which makes sense since this is "young and pregnant"! lol...

Teen Mom UK (the British version of the successful Teen Mom franchise ) is back for a 6th series! It starts next Wednesday and we'll get to catch up with Amber, Megan, Shannon, Sassi and Chloe and their families. There are several new arrivals set to join the Teen Mom UK world, with both Shannon Wise and Amber Butler expecting their second babies, and Megan Salmon-Ferrari's ex Dylan Siggers is also having a baby with his new girlfriend Ree-Ane! Shannon, 19, joined the show last summer for S4, and has son Theodore, 2, with her boyfriend Charlie. Last series we saw her taking a pregnancy test and discovering she was pregnant with her second baby . The news came as a shock, especially as she and Charlie had previously disagreed on whether to have another child (he didn't feel it was the right time to do that).
