Weekly Music Video

This week's music video is Wallah Habibi from the recent Bollywood film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan . The title translates as "Big Master Little Master" in English. It's an action and sci-fi thriller about ex-soldiers Captain Firoz/Freddy (played by star actor Akshay Kumar ) and Captain Rakesh/Rocky (played by Tiger Shroff , son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff and film producer and former model and actress Ayesha Dutt ), aka Bade Miyan and Chote Miyan, who are called back to duty.  They were previously court martialled and have been labelled "psychos", but they must now team up to recover a stolen weapon and defeat a mysterious masked enemy, who wants to destroy India. The idea is that when dealing with a psychopath, even bigger psychos are needed! Freddy and Rocky are aided in their mission by Captain Misha ( Manushi Chhillar ) and IT specialist Pam ( Alaya F ). Interesting info: Both Akshay and Tiger have studied martial arts. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was releas...

Weekly Music Video

This week's video is Hum Aaye Hain from the new Bollywood film Ganapath: Hero is Born . The movie is set in the dystopian future of 2070, where Guddu (played by Tiger Shroff , son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff ), transforms into the immortal hero Ganapath to change the fate of the poor in a divided world. It also stars Kriti Sanon and Amitabh Bachchan (another veteran actor). Ganapath came out on 20th October, prior to the Hindi festival Dussehra (also known as Vijayadashami), which falls on the 10th day of Navaratri and was on 24th Oct this year. It was released in multiple languages- Hindi (Bollywood), Telugu , Tamil , Malayalam and Kannada . I haven't seen it but it's not done well at the box office, which is a shame. Hopefully the songs are having more success! :) If you are interested in watching it though, it's currently showing at the Odeon in the UK. The video for Hum Aaye Hain was uploaded on 5th October. It features Tiger and Kriti who plays the character...

More X-Files Episodes

Sorry that the post is later again this week; I started it yesterday but went out for a meal with my dance group and didn't have time to finish. :) Back in 2014 I did a post of my Top 10  X-Files episodes which you can read here: http://starsparklex.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/top-10-x-files-episodes.html Now Season 11 is currently on in the UK, here's a follow ups of more of my favourite episodes.  While the Top 10 post is in the order that I like the episodes, this one is in chronological order. Unless otherwise stated videos are trailers. Post contains some spoilers. :) Eve (Series/Season 1, Episode 11) Two men are murdered in startlingly similar ways (blood drained out of holes in their necks) at exactly the same time. When Mulder and Scully (played by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson respectively) investigate they discover that the men's daughters Teena Simmons (played by Sabrina Krievens ) in Connecticut and Cindy Reardon (played by her real life twin Erik...

The X-Files Returns

Sci-fi/paranormal TV series The X-Files is back for its 11th series/season. It starts on Monday (in the UK, it's already showing in in the US). Gillian Anderson (who plays Agent Dana Scully, traditionally the more sceptical agent compared to David Duchovny's Agent Fox Mulder) has announced that she's leaving the show bu I'm not sure if any more seasons are planned. After a break of nearly 14 years The X-Files returned in early 2016 with S10. I didn't enjoy that series as much, it  just didn't seem the same. My favourite episode though was Episode 3, Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-Monster which featured New Zealand actor Rhys Darby as a strange lizard creature! The last episode (My Struggle II) ended with Mulder and Scully stuck on a bridge as lights from a spaceship came down from the sky. Mulder is seriously ill and in need of stem cell transplant. His only hope is his and Scully's long lost son William, whom they gave up for adoption as a baby to ...

TV Round-Up

Sorry the post is later this week; I intended to post yesterday but went to a belly dance event and didn't have time. :) I'm currently working on a Music Index page where you can find posts on Star Sparkle from different music genres. I had the idea a while ago and I decided to go ahead and do it, especially since I changed the blog to a different design/theme   there aren't any tags at the top anymore. The page isn't ready yet but I thought today I'd do a round-up of television related posts. (There aren't as many posts so I'm doing this rather than a page). So here we go. :) Dance shows Dance Moms: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2014/03/dance-moms.html Dance Moms/Raising Asia: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2014/09/dance-moms-asia.html Dance Mums UK: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2015/11/dance-mums-with-jennifer-ellison.html Bring It!:  https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2014/08/dance-videos.html Step It Up: https://starsparklex...

Quantum Leap

Quantum Leap was an American sci-fi TV series about Dr. Samuel (Sam) Beckett (played by Scott Bakula ) a physicist who is part of the research project Quantum Leap, which is working on time travel. The experiment goes wrong and Sam gets "lost" in time, "leaping" into the bodies of different people and only leaping out when he's successfully changed history for the better. Each time he leaps, he hopes that he will make it home. The show ran for 5 series (or seasons) from 1989 to 1993. Sam's guide through time is his friend and Project QL colleague Admiral Al Calavicci ( Dean Stockwell ) who appears as a hologram who only Sam can see and hear.* Al is linked up to the advanced computer system Ziggy. The voice of Ziggy is actress Deborah Pratt , who was also a producer on the show and the wife of series creator Donald P. Bellasario . Their daughter Troian (now best known for Pretty Little Liars ) features in the episode Another Mother (see below) and her name...
