We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer, and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March.
Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom, Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2; Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn, born in January 2019), and Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. Season 2 saw the departure of Lilly and the addition of 3 new pregnant girls and their partners- Laura Barron and her boyfriend (now husband) Tylor Stawmyor who have son Lucas (and have since had another baby, a 2nd son, who is named Leo), Chloe Mendoza and boyfriend Max Schenzel who have daughter Ava, Emilie Noak and her boyfriend Diego Reyes who have daughter Ariah Becket. It also continued to follow the journeys of "original girls" (Teen Mom reference, lol) McKayla and Lexus.
There have been more changes for S3, with Laura not being asked back, and Emiley choosing not to return, and the addition of new mums Rilah, Hailey and sisters Tyra and Tierra. Find out more about the new girls below. :)
Rilah Ferrer
Rilah, from Orlando, Florida got pregnant aged 16. The father is her boyfriend Anthony Vanelli. She gave birth to daughter Malayah Natalie last June.
Sadly Rilah and Anthony's relationship went downhill, with Rilah claiming that he physically abused her in October. Rilah has since announced that she has quit the show, due to disagreeing with the editing so we won't be seeing anymore of her story on TV. (Unless she changes her mind in future).
Hailey Tomlinson
Hailey's story is quite complicated. The 16 year old from Louisville, Kentucky gave birth to her and boyfriend Matthew's daughter Kinsley Marie in April 2019. The couple split just before the birth and Matthew started a relationship with Hailey's best friend, also called Hailey!
This was obviously a difficult situation, and things become more complex when Matthew and new girlfriend Hailey Tilford announced in November that they were expecting a baby . Their relationship has been rocky, and I think they're currently not together. The baby is due in April.

Tyra Boisseau
Tyra, from Olmstead, Kentucky, gave birth to daughter Layla, her first child with boyfriend Alex Wilson in March last year. She was 18 when S3 started.
Tiarra Boisseau
Tiarra is Tyra's younger sister. She was already a teen mum when Tyra had Layla, having given birth to daughter Ella Grace in October 2018 at the age of 16. Ella's father is Tiara's boyfriend Dee Ragland.

We will also get updates on Mckayla and Calen's on-off relationship (at the moment they are not together and their kids Timmy, now 2 and Gracelynn, 1; and Chloe, her boyfriend Max who has just been arrested again and Ava, now 17 months. Both Chloe and Mckayla have said they will not be back for S4 though.
