Sorry the post is later this week, had a bit of a busy weekend! :) Star Sparkle  Blog is 7 years old this month! I haven't celebrated blog birthdays before, but I recently did a birthday post on my other blog Falling Petals , so thought it would be cool to do one here too. :) I started Star Sparkle on 17th April 2011. I had the intention to make it an entertainment blog, mainly about music, but also about TV and film, and dance as well,  since I belly dance. Today's music video is Let Me, the latest single by ZAYN (former One Direction member turned solo singer Zayn Malik). It's the 2nd single from his upcoming 2nd studio album. Ariana Grande has a new single called No Tears Left To Cry. It's her first release since the terrorist attack at her concert in Manchester last May , and is about the bombing and trying to move on afterwards by pulling together and focusing  on love. This week's video is Love Lies by  Khalid featuring Normani (from American girl group Fifth Harmony ). Khalid (full name Khalid Donnell Robinson) is an American singer who started out by posting music to Soundcloud and then featured on Alina Baraz's single Electric in early 2016. He released his debut single Location in July 2016, which is one of his biggest hits to date. His debut album American Teen came out in March 2017. Khalid's other singles include Young, Dumb & Broke. Love Lies and OTW with rappers/singers Ty Dolla $ign and 6LACK . Love Lies was released on Valentine's Day (14th Feb) and is from soundtrack of  the American film Love, Simon . I've only seen the video in the last month though). It's the first single Normani has released outside of Fifth Harmony, who are currently on hiatus . OKAY  was released in November:  https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2017/11/weekly-music-video_29.html EXID- Cream This is Korean girl band EXID's debut Chinese single Cream which was released in December 2016.  At the same time member Solji went on hiatus due to being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism . EXID  have continued as a 3 member group until she is able to join them again. :) They brought out their 2nd Chinese single Up & Down in early 2017. (See Asian Music and Beyond link below). Today's video is Chop by Sugarboy featuring Ycee . Sugar Boy (real name Umoren Akanimoh Felix) is a Nigerian singer. His music is a mixture of Afrobeat, reggae and dancehall. He started out by featuring on the song BADMAN by MC Modenine in 2010. He signed to the G-Worldwide Entertainment record label in 2015 and released the song Raba with DJ Shabsy and Kiss Daniel .  Sugarboy's other singles include Swagger Man Dope, Hola Hola and Molue with Kiss Daniel. Chop is his latest single. It's an Afro-fusion song, a mix of house and Highlife , a music genre that originated in Ghana and is popular in Nigeria. There' s also Igbo highlife which comes from Nigeria. Note 5/12/18: This song kind of reminds me of Lisa Stanfield's  All Around the World , due to the lyrics "Been around the word and I can't find my baby", although the songs are not similar at all! This week's video is Where You At by Korean boyband NUE'ST W . The group was formed in 2012 as NU'EST (which stands for "New Establish Style Tempo)  and started out with 5 members- JR aka Junior Royal (real name Kim Jong Hyun), Baekho (Kang Dong-Ho), Hwang Minhyun, Aron (real name Kwak Young-Min) and Ren (Choi Min-Ki), but Minhyun has been working with fellow boyband Wanna One since last summer, so they are continuing to release music under the name NU'EST W. The W is short for "Wait" as in, waiting for Minhyun to come back. All the members are from Korea except for Aron who is from Los Angeles, USA.* NUE'ST  released their first single Face in March 2012 and have brought out a further 10 Korean singles, including Sleep Talking, Overcome and Where You At. They also sing in Japanese and have released 3 Japanese singles, Shalala Ring, Na. Na. Na. Namida and Bridge the World. To date they have released two studio albums, Re-Birth in July 2014 (Korean)
