Top 10 True Movies

I like watching films based on true stories. I used to watch them occasionally as a child and teen but I started watching them more after the True Movies channels (True Movies 1 and True Movies 2) launched on Sky 11 years ago. It seems weird that it's been so long, lol. I usually watch the films on those channels (or True Entertainment) but I also sometimes watch them on Lifetime or other channels. (I think a lot of these are Lifetime original movies but we didn't get the Lifetime channel in the UK until late 2013). I thought that today I'd share my Top 10 True Movies. :) Update 11/3/22: I got an antivirus warning for the Lifetime link. I think it's because the Lifetime UK is gone now. Trigger warning: Most of the films are based on crimes (often murder or abuse) and I realise these are difficult subjects, so read with caution if you're sensitive to these type of films. Post may contain spoilers. Unless otherwise stated, videos are trailers. :) 1. Inde

Weekly Music Video

This week's video is Let Me Love You by Ariana Grande featuring rapper Lil Wayne . It's from her 3rd album Dangerous Woman which is due out on Friday (20th May). This is my favourite song on the album so far. :) Check out this post to listen to two other songs from the new album: http://starsparklex.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/new-ariana-grande-songs.html P.S. I watched Eurovision on Saturday. I missed the first hour due to my belly dance group's show but I recorded it and watched the beginning over later. I was back just in time to see my favourite act, Dami Im (Australia) and voted for her again. (I voted for her in the 2nd Semi-Finals on Thursday). The winner was Ukraine's Jamala with 1944. While Australia was my fave, I also really liked Ukraine; it was one of the 3 current songs I mentioned in my pre-Eurovision post on Friday which you can read here: http://starsparklex.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/current-eurovision-acts-nostalgia.html I also liked Israel and

Current Eurovision Acts + Nostalgia!

It's that's time of year again- Eurovision time! This year the 61st Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, since they were the 2015 winners with the song Heroes sung by MÃ¥ns Zelmerlöw . (They last hosted the contest in 2013, after Loreen won the previous year with Euphoria). MÃ¥ns is a co-presenter this year, along with Petra Mede   who was a 2013 co-host. American singer Justin Timberlake will be performing in the interval and the contest will be shown on American TV for the first time ever. Australia are also taking part for the second time after launching a campaign to compete in 2013. Singer Jessica Mauboy was the interval act in 2014 and Guy Sebastian represented Australia last year with the song Tonight Again. A new voting system has also been introduced for the first time since 1975, in a bid to make the voting fairer. (Countries are often accused of voting politically). Each country will award two sets of points, from both a professional jury

Today's video is Edge of Steel by Leaves' Eyes . They have a new singer called Elina Siirala who is from Finland. (The rest of the band are German). She has replaced lead singer and band founder Liv Kristine . I was shocked when I watched a clip of the video just now because I thought, "That doesn't look like Liv Kristine!" It was only a clip, so I kept rewinding the video, lol. The band announced that Liv had left in April but it happened in January. She claimed she was dismissed but the rest of the band said it was a mutual decision. It must be a difficult situation because Liv and backing  vocalist Alexander Krull were married and have a son together. I thought they were still together but on Alexander's Wikipedia page it says he "was" married to Liv. I also wonder which direction the band waill go in now, since Liv Kristine wrote the lyrics and they were based on her Norwegian culture and heritage. She was in Leaves' Eyes for 13 years. It

This week's video is The 7th Sense by NCT U . They are a brand new Korean boyband, formed this year and the first group to be launched by South Korean S.M. Entertainment since EXO in 2011. Their name stands for Neo Culture Technology and the whole group is made up of unit based in different countries. The first unit is NCT U and it consists of members Taiel (full name Moon Tae-il)*, Taeyong (Lee Taeyong), Doyoung (real name Kim Dong-young)  and Jaehyun (Jung Yoon-oh) who are all Korean, Ten (real name Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul) who is Thai and Canadian Mark (Mark Lee). They are based in Seoul, South Korea. The other units are set to debut in Tokyo, Japan and China. They were all part of the pre-debut group SMRookies. The 7th Sense is NCT U's first single which came out on 6th April and they also released their second single WITHOUT YOU on 9th April. There are two versions of WITHOUT YOU, one Korean and one Chinese but I think The 7th Sense only has a Korean version.
