New X-Files Series

Last July (can't believe it's been that long!) I posted about The X-Files returning to TV for a new series. Back then the estimated return date of January seemed a long time away but now it's here and the new series will premiere in the US on 24th January on FOX. It's not in the UK just yet but we don't have to wait long because it's coming in February. The new series is 6 episodes long, so it's a mini series really but they may make more depending on how successful it is.

It's been over 13 years (14 in May) since The X-Files ended so it will be interesting to see the characters now and what they're doing with the show. As I mentioned in my original post (which you can view here: ( main characters Mulder (played by David Duchovny and Scully (Gillian Anderson) are returning as well as their boss Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) and his former boss, The Smoking Man (William B. Davis). In addition Agent Reyes (Annabeth Gish) is coming back but not Doggett (Robert Patrick) apparently.

The first episode is about Mulder and Scully taking on the case of an alien abductee. Episode 3 sounds good; it's called "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster"! wonder if we'll get an update on Mulder and Scully's son William who had some powers such as telekinesis (due to alien DNA?) and they gave him up for adoption at the end of the 9th series/season. I'm looking forward to the new series. :)

Update 27/1/16: I had posted a video about the return of the show but they've made it private for some reason! So here's the official trailer instead:

The X-Files will be shown in the UK on Channel 5 in February. They're currently showing The Essential Collection (20 episodes selected by Chris Carter who created the show) and they're repeating the first series on H2 (History 2).

J Soul Brothers (Japanese boyband)

I don't know that many Japanese boybands. It's funny but I mostly know Korean groups and Japanese solo singers! I know KAT-TUN, Arashi (although they're more of a rock group, I think) and Hey! Say! JUMP but not many more. A friend recently introduced to me the band (or vocal and dance unit) J Soul Brothers, so I thought today I'd do a post about them. And of course it fits into the J-pop and K-pop theme I'm doing this month! This is a good opportunity to find more J-pop boybands too. :)

The J Soul Brothers were originally formed in 1998 but have gone through two line-up changes. The current incarnation- full title Sandaime (Third Generation) J Soul Brothers from EXILE TRIBE* or J Soul Brothers III- was formed in 2010 by HIRO who is the leader of Japanese boyband EXILE (which has an impressive 19 members!) and founding member of the First Generation J Soul Brothers.  It was decided that EXILE and former Nidaimie (Second Generation) J Soul Brothers members NAOTO and …

Dance Moms- Chloe Update

Series/Season 7 of American reality show Dance Moms is currently showing in the UK and I recently heard that one of the original dancers Chloe Lukasiak will be returning for the finale.

Chloe and her mum Christi weren't liked by the dance teacher and studio owner Abby Lee Miller and Christi often clashed with Abby. They left at the end of Series 4. Abby treated Chloe horribly in my opinion, once referring to her as "that girl over there" instead of her name. I always disliked the way Abby punishes the girls if she falls out with their mothers. Also Abby seemed to want to Chloe to fail in competitions, which was weird because she was one of her students representing her!! I think she just wants to be proven right a lot of the time. Chloe was my favourite out of the original girls (Chloe, Maddie, Nia, Mackenzie, Brooke  ans Paige, although Kendall joined quite early on) and I was glad for her when she finally left because she didn't have to put up with being treated li…

Christmas Round-up

In October I did a Hallowe'en round-up post. Since today is Christmas Eve I thought it would be cool to do a Christmas round-up. :)

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis (Narnia)

This is the 2nd book in the fantasy children's series The Chronicles of Narnia. Originally published in 1950, it's become a kid's classic. The series is about the magical land of Narnia which is actually meant to be Heaven. It's ruled over by the great lion Aslan (who is like Jesus). But if you're not religious (like me) it's still an entertaining story.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is about siblings Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie who are evacuated from London to the country during the Blitz. They go to stay with Professor Kirke who lives alone apart from his housekeeper Mrs. Macready. While looking round the house the youngest girl Lucy discovers an entrance to Narnia in the back of a wardrobe. She comes out in a snowy…
