Eurovision Round-Up

It's that time of year again- Eurovision is coming! It's next Saturday so I thought it would be good to do a round-up of past Eurovision posts. :)

This year the contest will be held in Kiev, Ukraine since Ukraine was last year's winner with Jamala's 1944. She was actually one of my favourites, although my absolute fave was Australia's Dami Im with Sound of Silence. (See 2016 post). I voted for her. (For why Australia are entering Eurovision check out this link:

I always seem to have some event going on on the day of Eurovision, usually belly dance related! lol. Last year it was my group BD4U's show and I missed some of the contest. I recorded it but it's not the same with a live event, especially because I voted. This year we have a performance but it's in the afternoon.

This is the first Eurovision post I did in 2012 on singers I've discovered through it:

Here's 2013's post about some of my fave entries:

2014's was about past and present contestants:

In 2015 I posted an update about past winners Helena Paparizou (Greece) and Alexander Rybak (Norway):

And here's last year's post where I wrote about current (2016) Eurovision acts and Gina G's 1996 UK entry:

Also this is Aminata's Love Injected. She was Latvia's entry in 2015:

Finally here is one music video from this year's entries- Don't Come Easy by Isaiah who is representing Australia:

I'll do another post next week and will write more about Isaiah then: :)

If you're into Eurovision you may also enjoy these other videos by past contestants (they aren't the actual entries but other songs):

Anggun Lyrics Project (Anggun entered for France in 2012):

Anggun's face au vent video:

Arash (Azerbaijan's 2009 entry):

Hadise (Turkey's entry in 2009):

Elena Risteska  (2006 Macedonian entry):

Kenan Do─čulu (2007 Turkish entry):

Hope you enjoyed the post! What is your favourite Eurovision entry (past or present)?

The Semi-Finals are on Tuesday 9th May and Thursday 11th May at 8pm UK time/9pm CEST (Central European Standard Time). UK viewers will be able to vote in the first one but not the second probably. The Grand Final is on Saturday 13th May at the sane time. The Semi-Finals are on BBC3 and the Grand Final is on BBC1 in the UK.

J Soul Brothers (Japanese boyband)

I don't know that many Japanese boybands. It's funny but I mostly know Korean groups and Japanese solo singers! I know KAT-TUN, Arashi (although they're more of a rock group, I think) and Hey! Say! JUMP but not many more. A friend recently introduced to me the band (or vocal and dance unit) J Soul Brothers, so I thought today I'd do a post about them. And of course it fits into the J-pop and K-pop theme I'm doing this month! This is a good opportunity to find more J-pop boybands too. :)

The J Soul Brothers were originally formed in 1998 but have gone through two line-up changes. The current incarnation- full title Sandaime (Third Generation) J Soul Brothers from EXILE TRIBE* or J Soul Brothers III- was formed in 2010 by HIRO who is the leader of Japanese boyband EXILE (which has an impressive 19 members!) and founding member of the First Generation J Soul Brothers.  It was decided that EXILE and former Nidaimie (Second Generation) J Soul Brothers members NAOTO and …

Dance Videos

It's time for another dance post! I thought I'd feature both modern dance and belly dance today. :)

First of all here are a couple of dance videos by choreographer Rumer Noel. This is one to Everyday by Ariana Grande that was uploaded in January. According to comments on YouTube the man dancing with Rumer at the beginning is called Lucas la Parada.

Dance Moms- Chloe Update

Series/Season 7 of American reality show Dance Moms is currently showing in the UK and I recently heard that one of the original dancers Chloe Lukasiak will be returning for the finale.

Chloe and her mum Christi weren't liked by the dance teacher and studio owner Abby Lee Miller and Christi often clashed with Abby. They left at the end of Series 4. Abby treated Chloe horribly in my opinion, once referring to her as "that girl over there" instead of her name. I always disliked the way Abby punishes the girls if she falls out with their mothers. Also Abby seemed to want to Chloe to fail in competitions, which was weird because she was one of her students representing her!! I think she just wants to be proven right a lot of the time. Chloe was my favourite out of the original girls (Chloe, Maddie, Nia, Mackenzie, Brooke  ans Paige, although Kendall joined quite early on) and I was glad for her when she finally left because she didn't have to put up with being treated li…
