The American reality show Teen Mom (now known as Teen Mom OG) is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. I've watched since the first season (or series as we also call it in the UK) and I watched 16 and Pregnant (the original show which TM is a spin-off from) before that. I remember watching 16 and Pregnant in 2009, I think it took us longer to get the episodes in the UK, and we got that in late 2009. I believe they first showed Teen Mom here in 2010, since it didn't air in the US until December 2009.
Teen Mom finished after 4 seasons in 2012, but returned in 2015 renamed as Teen Mom OG (short for Original Girls). Since then the show has gone through several changes- the departure of Farrah Abraham and the introduction of new mums Bristol Palin and Cheyenne Floyd. Bristol left in April, having said before that she wasn't happy with how she was being portrayed, but Cheyenne is back with the other girls. Original star Maci also recently said she's not happy with how her story is shown on the show, but she hasn't announced any plans to quit.
Over the years the Teen Mom franchise has grown and we now have Teen Mom 2, Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant and the latest addition Teen Mom: Young Moms Club (formerly Pretty Little Mamas), plus international series such as Teen Mom UK and Teen Mom Poland. There was also Teen Mom 3 which was cancelled after one season, and the South African programme MTV Shuga Presents: 16 and Pregnant which I think was a one off special in 2017.
Now Teen Mom OG is back for S8. It started in the US on 10th June and is due to start in the UK next Wednesday. Here are some updates on Maci, Amber, Catelynn and Cheyenne. :)
Maci
Maci Bookout (now McKinney) featured in the first episode of S1 when she gave birth to her son Bentley with boyfriend Ryan Edwards in October 2008. You can read my update of her written in May 2015 here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2015/05/return-of-teen-mom.html
Since then Maci and her husband Taylor McKinney have had two kids together, daughter Jayde (born in May 2015) and Maverick (born in May 2016). The couple married in October 2016. Maci has had a difficult relationship with her ex and Bentley's dad Ryan, who has drug addiction issues and has been to rehab and jail. Ryan, who also has son Jagger, 8 months, with wife Mackenzie, quit TM OG last year but returned for this season.

Amber
Amber Portwood appeared in Ep 3 of S1 and we saw her give birth to daughter Leah with her boyfriend Gary Shirley in November 2008. Amber and Gary's up and down relationship, and Amber's drug issues and arrest for domestic violence have been documented on the show. She went to jail in 2012 (on charges related to drugs and missing rehab) and was released 4 years early in November 2013. When Teen Mom OG returned she was engaged to Matt Baier. Amber has joint custody of Leah with Gary, who is now married to Kristina, with whom he has daughter Emilee, 4. Kristina also has daughter who doesn't appear on the show.

Catelynn
Catelyn Lowell (now Baltiera) appeared in the last episode of Season 1 (Ep 6), and her and boyfriend Tyler Baltierra's storyline was quite hard to watch, since they made the difficult
decision to place their daughter Carly for adoption, due to their

Over the years we've seen them struggling wit how often they're allowed to see Carly and with their relationship with Brandon and Theresa. Their 2nd daughter Novalee was born in January 2015. Catelynn and Tyler married in August 2015.
In the last series we saw Catelynn have a miscarriage, and go back to rehab, after she was unable to cope and her depression and anxiety got worse again.. She and Tyler were having a trial separation but were also surprised to discover they were expecting another baby. Daughter Vaeda was born in February and we'll see her birth on the show. Cheyenne
Cheyenne Floyd joined last season, along with Bristol Pailn. She gave birth to daughter Ryder aged 23 in April 2017, but didn't tell her ex Cory Wharton that he was a dad until Ryder was 6 months old. We've seen Cheyenne and Cory co-parenting on the show and the issues that arose from her relationship with new boyfriend Zach. Ryder has a rare genetic disorder called VCLAD and Cheyenne discussed this a little on Teen Mom. Teen Mom OG starts on Wednesday 26th June at 8pm on MTV UK.
There's also been changes over in Teen Mom 2, with Jenelle Evans being fired from the show after her husband David killed her dog. It was becoming increasingly difficult for MTV to shoot with Jenelle since David was previously fired after making homophobic and transphobic comments, and he threatened to sabotage filming. So they were unable to film much in North Carolina. She's also currently lost custody of her children Kaiser and Ensley. :( Ensley is her daughter with David and he's also lost custody of his daughter Maryssa. Jenelle's oldest son Jace (whose birth featured in her 16 and Pregnant episode) lives with her mother Barbara. Jade Cline from Young and Pregnant will be Jenelle's replacement.
